Where Connecticut's youth soccer clubs are, county by county

The Connecticut Junior Soccer Association (CJSA) publishes a list of clubs, with a link to each club's website. This site's club directory is built from that list and records the town each club is based in. Laid over Connecticut's 169 towns, it shows things the list on its own doesn't: which counties have the most clubs, which towns have several, and which have none of their own.

165 clubs in 125 towns

CJSA's list had 162 clubs when this site recorded it in August 2026. This site also has detailed pages for three youth clubs that aren't on it: Connecticut FC in Bloomfield, Ginga FC in Woodbridge, Hamden and Madison, and Sporting CT in Middletown. Together that is 165 youth clubs, based in 125 of the state's 169 towns. One more, QVSA United, is listed under the Quinnipiac Valley rather than a single town, so it isn't counted in any town or county below.

Most are town clubs. 119 of the 162 clubs on CJSA's list carry their home town's name, such as Ansonia Soccer Club or Berlin Youth Soccer Association. The others are regional clubs, academies and clubs that compete beyond the town level, such as Beachside Soccer Club in Norwalk.

Ginga FC is listed under three New Haven County towns and counted once. Each county name links to its clubs in the directory.

Hartford, Fairfield and New Haven counties hold 103 of the 165 clubs, and 73 of their 79 towns are the listed home of at least one. The two most rural counties look different: 12 of Litchfield County's 26 towns are a club's home, and 6 of Windham County's 15.

Towns with several clubs

Hartford, Norwalk and Stamford each have four clubs on the list. In Stamford, for example, Stamford Youth Soccer is listed alongside Chelsea Piers Shoreline SC, JA Elite and JCFC Soccer Academy. Bridgeport, Enfield, Glastonbury, Hamden, Madison, Middletown and Norwich have three each, counting Ginga FC in both Hamden and Madison.

The 44 towns without a club of their own

No club on the list is based in these towns, but that doesn't mean children there have nowhere to play. A club is listed under one town, and many serve several. Here is what some of them, or their towns, say:

Those clubs name 19 of the 44 towns. The other 25 are Ashford, Beacon Falls, Bethel, Bozrah, Bridgewater, Chaplin, Columbia, Franklin, Goshen, Hampton, Hartland, Lisbon, Lyme, Morris, North Canaan, Preston, Redding, Roxbury, Scotland, Sprague, Sterling, Union, Voluntown, Warren and Willington. Families there may play for a neighboring town's club, or in a program the town runs itself; one town recreation department, Ellington Parks and Recreation, is on CJSA's list in its own right.

If your town isn’t on the list

How this was counted

The club list is the Club Directory page on CJSA's website, as this site recorded it in August 2026. CJSA's page gives each club's name and a link to its website; the town is this site's own record, corrected where a club's website shows a different home (WAM United Soccer Club, for example, is listed in Mansfield, where its home field is). A club listed under a village is counted in its town, so Terryville counts as Plymouth and Winsted as Winchester. Counties are Connecticut's eight historical counties, the ones the town directory uses. The state abolished county government in 1960, and the U.S. Census Bureau now uses nine planning regions as county equivalents instead.

Clubs join, merge and move, so these numbers will change. The town directory always shows the current list.
